I must confess that I am rather disappointed that I could not identify the ridge in the background. I suspect that the direction of view in the picture is towards the south, but I cannot verify this assumption.
Again some additional info: the trees are California fan palms (Washingtonia filifera) native to the southwestern US and the site is the Seventeen Palms Oasis south of the Borrego Salton Sea Way (S22) near 33°15’18 “N 116°06’39 “W.
